How GetMover works

We match you with licensed movers. We don't move you ourselves.

GetMover is a free matching service for long-distance and interstate moves. You tell us about your move once, and licensed moving companies that serve your route contact you with quotes.

What happens to your request

01

You tell us about your move

Where you are moving from and to, the date, and the size of your home. It takes about two minutes and costs nothing.

02

We pass it to licensed movers on your route

Your request goes to moving companies in our network that handle your route. Only those companies receive your details.

03

They contact you with quotes

The movers reach out by phone or email to confirm the details and quote. Compare them and pick the one you trust. You are never obliged to book.

04

You book directly with the mover

Your contract, payment, and claims are with the moving company you choose. GetMover does not transport goods and does not take payment for your move.

How we're paid

GetMover is free for you. The moving companies in our network pay us to find customers for them. That's why we can't give you a binding price ourselves: only the mover who surveys your home can.

How to check any mover before you book

Whoever you hire, through us or anywhere else, check these first.

An active USDOT number. Search it on FMCSA’s mover lookup and confirm the name matches.
Interstate household-goods authority (an MC number), required for moves across state lines.
A written estimate, binding or not-to-exceed, after an in-home or video survey. Be wary of quotes given blind over the phone.
The FMCSA booklet “Your Rights and Responsibilities When You Move”, which interstate movers must give you.
No large cash deposit. Reputable movers don’t ask for big upfront payments.
